Message From the Couple
We are inviting you because we love you! We do understand asking you to fly to another country, take PTO, and organize personal matters is a lot, so we understand if you cannot make it... however we absolutely hope you can! ;) Also, this is your vacation so do not feel obligated to be with the group the entire time / participate in all activities. We want you to enjoy yourselves!
Hotel: Please book ASAP
There is no "room block". The deposit is $150, and the balance is due 65 days prior to travel. I was also just informed if you do not book through this website (Destify) I have to pay a fine for each person... please use this website - they do price match!
If you are considering staying off-property, please reach out to Danette directly to coordinate - I also have to pay an even bigger fine for this and you won't have access to the property except for the ceremony/reception.
We will be staying 10/30-11/5. Official travel dates are 10/31-11/3, but feel free to stay as long as you like!
If you are traveling solo but would like to share a room please let us know and we'll try to connect the dots.
Dress Code: Dia De Los Muertos Color Palette (for the Wedding):
Ladies: Please wear any of the following colors: Orange, Yellow, Red, Purple. Pink. No black dresses.
Gentlemen: Slacks with Shirts: Black, White, Orange, Yellow, Red, Purple, Pink. Ties and jackets are optional.
Also please try to stick to solid colors, no wild patterns. WE APPRECIATE YOU!
Orange and Yellow: These colors are directly linked to the marigold flower (cempasúchil), also known as "flower of the dead". They are believed to guide the spirits of the departed back to their loved ones through their strong scent and vibrant colors. Orange also represents the sun.
Red: Symbolizes blood and life.
Purple: Represents mourning, grief, and suffering.
Pink: Symbolizes hope, purity, and celebration.

About Us
Danette and Michael met at CU through mutual friends back in fall of 2004. There were sparks on both sides and a few interactions over that school year, but due to going to schools in different states (ASU and CU) nothing ever materialized. After living outside Colorado for 17 years Danette had finally decided to come home, and oddly enough Michael reached out right around the time Danette was looking for a house in Denver. Michael came to LA to visit, and the sparks were definitely still there. We have been together ever since :) Serendipitous, isn't it?
We share the same hometown (Manitou/Colorado Springs), we both have family and friends in Arizona, and love our life here in Denver. Cabo symbolizes our love for Mexico and Michael's family, as well as the desert vibe that makes us both feel at home. We share a love of music and hope you can come boogie with us to celebrate!

Jacqui and Danette met at an ASU pool party (typical). They reconnected in LA later in their 20's, and their friendship really blossomed. They took an epic Eurotrip, then shortly after both left LA. A couple years later they found themselves neighbors again in NYC / New Jersey... life is funny like that! They made many memories out on the East Coast together including Jacqui's wedding to Paul (who Danette adores). Jacqui and Michael are two peas in a pod, and she has spent her career producing and ON live television. OBVIOUS choice for an officiant ;)
Ashley Maroon
Maid of Honor
Ashley and Danette have known each other since 1st grade and have gotten into plenty of trouble together ever since. They grew up playing volleyball, taking family trips together, and being a constant in each other's lives for over 3 decades. Danette is the godmother to Ashley's two sons, Landon and Paxton, and introduced Ashley to her husband Riley (another bestie, but wouldn't look good in a bridesmaid's dress, no offense!) when they were 16. The Maroons are family.

Danette met "Snickers" through Riley (Ashley's husband). Snicks has been a staple in the crew for decades and is guaranteed to make you giggle. Snickers and Danette soldiered through the tough pandemic days together when Danette came to Colorado "for a couple weeks" and ended up staying for 3 months with Snicks in her 1-bedroom apartment. Danette and Snickers lived together for a year when Danette moved back to Denver. Heart of gold, down for anything, and always smiling.

Julie moved to Colorado in 6th grade and quickly joined the group of "Manitou girls". Danette and Julie became inseparable, spending most days after school together playing band instruments, volleyball, or pretending they were in Fast and Furious, Colorado Springs Drift in their Honda Civics. Julie and Danette cannot spend five minutes together without giggling, fact. Bill and Jeannette, Julie's parents, are like Danette's bonus parents.

Danette and Ashley met working at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley, AZ. They have clocked many late nights together, but also have been there for each other during the most important parts of each other's lives. We started from the bottom, now we're here! Danette was lucky enough to officiate Ashley's wedding to her soulmate Courtney, who is another one of Danette's cherished friends.

Liz and Michael are cousins and grew up together. They are the best of friends and share many of the same interests. Liz's family (parents Luis and Vicky, husband Tim, and children Mateo and Adriana) have been a big part of Danette and Michael's relationship. Liz and Michael are so much on the same wavelength they finish each other's sentences and are always laughing.

Michael and Bryan met at work, but are both OBSESSED with 1. Golf and 2. Snowboarding. Beyond enjoying these hobbies together, at any point of any day they will be discussing these hobbies in depth. They don't ever seem to get sick of each other's company and can have fun doing anything together.
Luis Monroy
Groomsman
Luis and Michael are both from Colorado Springs and went to Palmer together. Oddly enough, right down the road from Danette and her crew. Luis and Michael then moved onto CU together, where Danette happened to run into the two of them visiting friends. They have attended so many shows together they probably couldn't count if they tried, and are both die-hard Colorado sports fans. There is something special about a friendship that lasts through all phases of life.

If you would like to golf please arrive a day early (10/30) and let us know so we can include you in the golf discussion. Feel free to come early to catch more rays or do some non-golf exploring too. We will likely be hanging at the pool during the day and one of the onsite bars in the evening.

We plan to take a Catamaran or Yacht out to the arch. Please let us know if you'd like to join so we can accommodate. Pricing should be roughly $150-$200 per person, there will be shaded areas and drinks, and you can swim. We are locking in a boat and will update as details become available.
Dia De Los Muertos Celebration (Night 1)

We plan to celebrate the first day of Dia De Los Muertos in San Jose Del Cabo (they have a party in the town square). We are looking into group transportation - more details to come. If you'd like to dress up for this, please feel free! (face paint, headpiece, all black, etc.)

Our wedding is the second day of Dia De Los Muertos (please refer to the website for the color palette dress code). We will be incorporating the color scheme but please no face paint or headpieces ;) The reception will be at Tune Terrace at 5pm. Sunset is at 5:40pm. Hora Loca is from 6-7pm with Mariachis! The reception will be held at Serenade Terrace from 7-10pm. After the reception the plan is to change into party attire and go to the onsite club (10:30-2am) and dance the night away! We can't wait to celebrate with you!
